Hello! Belinda here with you today and I am thrilled to be back with you to share a step by step tutorial. This layout features the absolutely fabulous Graphic 45 Safari Adventure collection. I just love the animal print and jungle images in this range. It is so perfect for travel photos or even happy snaps from the zoo.
Step 1:
- Crop the G45 ‘Lush Landscape’ patterned paper to 30cm x 30cm.
- Ink the edges with ‘Peeled Paint’ Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
- Stick down on a black cardstock base.
Step 2:
- Spray the background with ‘Charcoal’ Kaisercraft mist.
- Spray with water to dilute the colour and create a watercolour effect.
- Blot away the excess with paper towel. (TIP: Swipe a tag or two through the excess colour first to put away for future use. This is a great way to save any wastage of your mists and you have the bonus of having tags with backgrounds all ready to go).
- Dry with a heat gun.
Step 3:
- Cut a piece of the ‘Natural Habitat’ patterned paper measuring 13cm x 20cm.
- Distress the edges.
- Ink the edges with ‘Black Soot’ Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
- Add some tape just in the middle back of this piece and stick down on your layout. (You will need to slide things in behind this piece later).
Step 4:
- Cut a piece of the ‘Call Of The Wild’ patterned paper measuring 11.5cm x 18cm. (Make sure you avoid the birds on the reverse that you will need to fussy cut later).
- Distress the edges and ink with the ‘Peeled Paint’ ink.
- Stick down on top of the piece from Step 3.
Step 5:
- Choose a postcard from the Journalling & Ephemera Card Pack.
- Distress the edges and ink with Peeled Paint.
- Stick down on the layout.
Step 6:
- Crop your photo to 9cm x 9cm.
- Mount on a piece of black cardstock cut to size (approx. 9.5cm x 9.5cm).
- Add 3D foam to the centre back and stick down on the left hand side of the postcard.
Step 7:
- Cut out the “It’s going to be wild” tag from the ‘Jungle Expedition’ patterned paper.
- Cut into two pieces (2/3 at the top and 1/3 at the bottom).
- Ink the edges with ‘Peeled Paint’ and add the two pieces to the layout as per the photo below.
Step 8:
- Fussy cut two birds from the ‘Call of the Wild’ patterned paper.
- Spray a flourish from the 2 Crafty ‘Leafy Shrub Set 2′ with Charcoal Kaisercraft mist and allow to dry.
- Add the birds, the leafy flourish and the “Discover Life” tab from the Chipboard Tag 2 set.
Step 9:
- Add some Petaloo flowers and leaves to the layout.
- Cut out the “Welcome to our jungle” quote from the ‘Amazing Africa’ patterned paper.
- Add to the layout with 3D foam.
- Add a title using lettering from your stash.
- Add some Couture Creations ‘Emerald Green’ pearls to your title.
